Job description
A fibre cabler in Fibrotech will be responsible for installing the core cables that connect our towns, villages and cities via the underground network. Working under a cabling supervisor, you will be required to perform your activities accurately and within deadlines assisting the business to meet their weekly completion targets for the fibre build expectations of our customers. Safety is a huge part of how we deliver network infrastructure, so you must be able to follow clear safety instructions and have strong risk assessment capabilities as well as be able to operate within regulatory guidelines.
Skills and experience Compulsory
➢ Full UK drivers license for 6 months with less than 6 points
➢ Communication skills
➢ Early Start Time of 07:30am/08:00am
Desirable - the below accreditations are not compulsory and can be provided, but as an overview of what would be beneficial, we would like to see the following accreditations:
➢ Overhead safety awareness (Accreditation SA001)
➢ Underground safety awareness (Accreditation SA002)
➢ One fibre network (Accreditations N23, N27, N28)
➢ Hand rodding and roping (Accreditations K8) Prestige optical value soft skills such as a good work ethic and a willingness to find solutions to problems as much as the skills and expertise in network and communications.

As a Cable Operative, your core responsibilities will be –
- Fibre cabling pulling, jointing and testing
- Use of telecoms installation & test equipment
- Work safely according to National Roads and Street works Act, including Signing, Lighting and Guarding, Safe Working Practices, Personal Safety and Gas Testing
- Ensure all activities are carried out in line with Health and Safety standards, including carrying out daily checks to ensure safe to use
- Complete and update internal and external databases to record actions and daily whereabouts
- Self-audit work to ensure it meets all company and client standards
- Deliver high-quality, professional service
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment at all times
- Work in all weather conditions

This role comes with full equipment, van and fuel. It is a Monday to Friday role, 40 hours per week. You will be paid a competitive day rate plus the bonus when you hit daily target
