Job description
Grasbys of Hull, a local family run business, are currently looking for a C & E Livestock driver, based at YO43 4LB.
The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting pigs from local farms and then delivering them to factories.
Working days are Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work required.
Key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Oversee and check safe loading of vehicle
- Ensure goods are delivered in a timely manner to the correct location
- Accurate completion of associated paperwork (including movement documentation)
- All tachograph laws & regulations are adhered to
- Responsible for preparing trailer for transport of animals
- Responsible for safe loading and unloading of pigs onto trailer
- Responsible for the welfare of pigs during transit
- Responsible for assessing fitness of pigs to travel and identify any which are not fit for transit
The following skills are required:
- LGV Class CE
- Experience of handling livestock is beneficial but training can be provided
- Good time management
- Good interpersonal skills
The position is full time, permanent.
The salary is competitive.
