Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) is a subsidiary of the Boeing Company and currently employs over 1,800 people in the UK. As a result of the expansion of the C-17 International Training Centre capabilities and the introduction of C-17 maintenance training devices, a new role as Hangar Operations / Instructor has become available.
The primary role of this position will be to maintain C-17 Globemaster associated ground support equipment and systems by removing, replacing, repairing or upgrading components. Solve problems to isolate faulty components. Conducts functional tests by operating equipment and using appropriate test equipment. Performs a variety of inspections as required by equipment maintenance documents. Documents maintenance and inspection actions as required. Establish and maintain tool and tool control systems in the training facility and maintain the general husbandry and safety in this area.
In addition, this position will also require the successful candidate to support the C-17 Maintenance Instructor team in delivery of C-17 specific training courses to our customers.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experienced aircraft engineer (min 3 years)
C-17 Globemaster III engineering experience (min 1 year)
Previous instructional experience within military or civilian aircraft engineering training (DSAT or Part 147) environment desirable
Previous experience as C-17 Maintenance Instructor desirable
Management experience desirable
Instructional Techniques course minimum Level 3 or 4 desirable
Knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as avionics, mechanical, and systems.
The ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas, cultures and functions.
IT proficient specifically Microsoft Office applications
Skill and ability to: collect, organise and analyse data; summarise findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.
