Like our fantastic ranges, our teams are also expanding and our commercial team is seeking two Buying Assistant's to join us permanently!

Working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday (8 am - 4 pm OR 9 am - 5 pm). Flexible working arrangements may be available.

Location: Milton Keynes, however, we operate a hybrid working policy which means that you decide what works best for you! If that means working from home, then work from home. If you prefer to work in an office, store, or distribution center, then you're welcome to work from there. All we ask is that you be available to come into Milton Keynes for important meetings/check-ins and also more regularly during some of our busier periods. With this particular role, you can expect to be in the office 2 days per week (usually Tuesdays & Wednesdays however this may be subject to change)

Salary: In return for your hard work we're offering a competitive base salary of £21,000 - £26,000 (DOE) plus bonus earning potential

Our first role is in our SEASONAL category: and right now that means everything CHRISTMAS!!! At this time of year, this category is one of our busiest, but also one of our most rewarding to work on. You'll need to have a great eye for detail and be able to thrive under pressure. You'll also need to have a great eye for design as you'll be helping your buyer build one of our most highly publicized ranges. Our customers KNOW we al all out for Christmas - and you'll be helping us to make sure that we'll keep being known for this, for years to come!

Our second role is in our EDRM category (which stands for "Everyday Repair and Maintenance"). EDRM is one of our biggest categories and also one of the few that is busy all year round. You will be working with a huge range of products, and suppliers from all over the globe. So every time one of our customers finds out they need a new light bulb for their hallway, their kitchen tap is leaking, or their over-enthusiastic 8-year-old accidentally puts a hole in the dining room wall (just me...?), you will be responsible for making sure that we have the products in stock to make sure life's little mishaps are easily fixed!

What you'll be doing:

As our newest Buying Assistant, you will play a key role in the support of a busy, fast-paced environment. Working closely with your Buyer, you will provide support in all aspects of the buying process, including; gathering product information from suppliers, uploading this onto our internal database, sample management, and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, written & verbal, with the ability to work well with a range of stakeholders, approaching task-oriented solutions with a logical and efficient attitude. They will also be highly organised, have a head for figures, and have sound MS Office skills, particularly MS Excel.

What you need to be successful:

    • Previous buying/marketing administration experience (desirable)
    • Ability to utilise Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel) to an intermediate level (essential)
    • Commercially aware
    • Great organisation and time management skills
    • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
