A Knoxville-Based Company is looking for an experienced Product Buyer for it's facility in Prichard, West Virginia. We are a 116-year old born and bred company that is actively in a growth mode. The ideal candidate will have solid computer skills, a can-do attitude and willingness to self start.

Position Summary:

Responsible for the inventory and open orders for assigned categories. The Product Buyer will own the entire inventory process from purchase order creation to maintaining inventory levels for assigned categories. The Product Buyer will work closely with the corresponding Product Managers to communicate vendor, inventory levels and productivity concerns.

Duties And Responsibilities

Perform the following tasks to manage and maintain the Company’s Service Level, Inventory Turns and Inventory Goals:

• Develop accurate and timely purchase orders to meet inventory performance objectives.
• Ensure that replenishment system variables (lead time, order cycle, demand forecast, etc.) are accurate to drive valid purchase orders and manage inventory.
• Order promotional products for circulars and other marketing programs and Buying Markets.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to execute special order deals and investment buys, and to dispose of distressed/aged inventory.
• Respond to inquiries regarding inventory availability.
• Set up new item forecasts.
• Load and maintain special prices.
• Manage forecasts/products via replenishment system’s period end checks.
• Assign and maintain item selling profiles and forecasts.
• Communicate discontinued items, issues with order minimum levels to Product Manager’s.
• Review Service Level and Out of Stock reports.
• Communicate with vendors on purchase order eta’s and address with Product Manager’s any issues. Follow-up on out of stock and late merchandise
• Maintain Inventory and Service Level to achieve budget targets and key performance indicators.
• Manage and maintain open purchase order report to ensure purchase orders and lines are being closed in a timely manner.
• Other Duties as assigned.

Purchase Order Management

• Track PO shipments and log shipment details on Open PO Report and expedite Purchase Orders if necessary.
• Review and watch for receiving errors, damages, overages and shortages and request RGA as necessary.
• Perform PO maintenance in AS/400 system - updating factory numbers, order quantities and pricing and communicating errors to vendors.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
