Role: Fish Buyer/Sales person

Reporting to: Head of Fish/Meat Sales

Direct reports: None

Hours: 40 hours per week, - Monday - Friday

Place of work: Goosemoor Foodservice – Marsh Barton Farm, Exeter

Purpose of the role

We are looking for an experienced, and motivated Fishmonger/Fish salesperson to join our successful and growing sales department.

The right candidate will need to have good knowledge of fish and seafood, excellent organisation and communication skills and an uplifting, positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate as point of contact for assigned customers

Liaise with assigned customers about requirements across all relevant product ranges

Analyse customer buying patterns and predict future trends

Review and manage plans for stock levels

Keep up to date with trends and react to changes in demand and logistics

Build strong working relationships with suppliers

Source new suppliers for future projects

Confidently negotiate prices and terms of contracts

Participate in and support business promotions

Obtain feedback from customers

Skills, experience and behaviours

Experience within a similar role is desirable but not essential

Strong influencing skills and ability to quickly build trust and confidence

Negotiation skills and the ability to network well

Good time management and ability to work in an organised way

Attention to detail

Openness and honesty

Willingness to work as part of a great team

Drive and determination

Good level of commercial awareness

Great knowledge of the fish industry
