Job description
Kelly's Supermarkets is a family run business consisting of 12 community stores based within the Mid-Ulster area! A massive aspect to our business is our in-store Butchery and meat production unit.
We are asking for a qualified butcher that is willing to take on the role of helping our butchers to prepare and serve our high quality meat to each and every one of our customers throughout Mid-Ulster.

As our Butcher your primary focus will be to:
- Offer an excellent level of customer engagement through offering advice, recommendations and assistance
- Greeting and serving customers
- Maintain the highest standards of Hygiene within the store
- Support and work effectively with your colleagues
- Continually work in a sales driven manner
- Preparing our counter
- Preparing different cuts of meat
- Assisting customers with their purchases and providing product knowledge
- Preparation of counter and pre-pack areas
- Product sampling
- Stock rotation
- Price reduction
- Receiving deliveries and completing paperwork required
- General cleaning and department maintenance
- Preparing and processing orders for distribution
- Boning of beef, turkey, lamb & pork
- Creativity to come up with new and exciting products
- Manufacturing sausages, burgers and mince
- Regular temperature checks
- Rotating stock
- Labelling and weighing products correctly
- Setting up and putting away your counter
- Cleaning counter and manufacturing area
Qualifications / Experience:
- Proven butchery experience
- Proven customer service experience
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and NVQ qualifications in Butchery/ Food Technology are desirable. A real passion for excellent customer service
- An enthusiasm for retailing and specifically butchery
- A keen interest in developing a career within the trade
- Strong communication skills
- The ability to work on own initiative
- A good team spirit
