The priorities for the city and the council reflect the current needs of residents and the aspirations for a resilient, prosperous, and smart city and council. The Customer Enabling Service supports the council in its delivery of its priorities. The council has also changed its way of working in recent years, including the building of a new City Hall to stimulate innovative and collaborative working.
The Corporate Support Service within the Customer Enabling Service are looking to recruit a Business Support Operational Manager to join the busy, friendly and vibrant administrative and transactional support service. You will play a key role in managing the councils corporate support functions (including the PA Support function) and have the ability and desire to make a positive difference within the service.
The service is predominantly designed as a centralised service to deliver economies of scale. You will be responsible for leading and developing a team of Business Support Officers and Assistants, ensuring the service continues to achieve organisational resilience and a high level of service responsiveness in recognition of the ever-changing needs of the organisation. You will be responsible for delivering a high quality and professional support service, while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
You will be able to demonstrate commitment and flexibility by supporting a diverse range of business support functions and have experience of working in a team environment and be motivated to take on this challenging role. Excellent interpersonal / communication skills are key for this role as you will be working with clients and colleagues across a number of disciplines and organisations including members of the public and members of staff at all levels.
