We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Business Support Officer to enhance our already established friendly and supportive team who will contribute to the key work of the Education and Children's Directorate.
There are 2 permanent full-time post within Central Area Team 5, based at County Hall, Preston providing outstanding support to operational staff and managers. The post will provide support to the Fostering Service which manages the short- and long-term care arrangements for children in Lancashire. The service recruits and assesses a diverse range of prospective foster carers, carefully matching and placing children with approved carers who can meet individual needs. It provides ongoing training and support to carers to develop their skills and to successfully maintain placements. It supports contact arrangements, enable access to birth records, facilitates support groups and counselling. It also supports children transitioning from Foster placements into their adoptive ones through careful matching with the most suitable adoptive placement, liaising with court and other professionals to adhere to statutory timescales.
You could be really experienced in administration or looking to build on your previous experience and there is no better place to do this than with us.
What we are looking for:
Passion – You'll be passionate about delivering a great service and experience, it's what will motivate you, getting it right first time, asking for support when you need it and building on the skills that you've developed elsewhere.
Knowledge and Experience – Ideally you will have experience of working within an administration setting and have knowledge of using Microsoft packages and databases.
Great Communication – You'll be engaging and providing advice to Managers, Social Workers, families, members of the public and the rest of the team on a daily basis, so being able to clearly communicate the information you need and listen to individual requirements is key.

We are currently working a combination of home and office working, therefore, you will be required to have a suitable working space within your home and broadband connection. There is an expectation that staff work a minimum of 40% of the working time from the office base and could increase depending upon service need.
