Role Overview*
As the Business Skills Support Coach at Cambridge Spark, you will have dedicated & specific responsibilities related to supporting learners with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) requirements and enhanced support needs for Functional Skills (FS). You will ensure that learners with SEND/FS requirements and enhanced support needs receive the additional support they require, either directly or through coordination with existing team members, additional equipment, or adaptations to learning activities
You will deliver both one-to-one and group support sessions to help learners with known additional requirements navigate and overcome challenges to ensure progress to plan in their apprenticeship programme. Working closely with the Service Delivery and Training department to understand the specific needs of learners with SEND/ FS requirements and enhanced support needs, and to develop strategies to support their learning and development.
The Business Skills Support Coach will provide guidance and support to learners as needed, including helping them to understand and complete coursework, develop study skills, and build confidence in their ability to succeed. You will support the wider teams to determine progress for learners via maintaining accurate records and documentation related to the support provided to learners with SEND requirements and enhanced additional support needs
To be successful in this role, you should have strong communication and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of learners and support staff. You should also be organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Candidate Specification:
Education and Qualifications:

  • A relevant degree or higher qualification in English/Maths or SEND
  • A min of A Level C in English and Maths is required
  • Teaching, Tutoring or Coaching experience
  • Experience working with learners with SEND and/or functional skills needs
  • Working knowledge of current best practices in SEND and functional skills support

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Compassionate and understanding approach to working with learners with SEND and/or additional support needs

Experience:

  • Experience working with learners with SEND and/or functional skills needs

  • Experience tracking and monitoring learner progress
