Business Resilience Executive

This is a key time to be joining British Airways as we Build a Better BA. We take huge pride in our past – but we’re looking to the future as an airline that loves embracing the best of modern Britain. Our country’s creativity, diversity, style, wit and warmth are the same special qualities that make us who we are. If you’re made of the same qualities as us, you could soon be part of the next chapter of our story. Together as one team, we’re connecting Britain with the world and the world to Britain like no one else

This engaging role within BA’s Business Resilience team works to ensure that we effectively plan for and respond to major incidents across the company. Key to this role is building effective internal and external relationships across the airline and with key collaborators and partners to ensure best practices in resilience are implemented across a range of projects, and the evolving crisis management, contingency and business continuity planning environment.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Support the Head Office BRL to ensure all corporate functions (including Airports and Disaster Recovery) create, maintain, validate and regularly test crisis management and business continuity plans
  • Managing access to information, updating content and following up on actions from contingency planning projects acting as a champion to support corporate functions
  • Set-up, co-deliver and administrate Business Resilience owned training courses for Emergency Procedures Information Centre (EPIC), Special Assistance Team (SAT), CMT and station emergency response. Continually reviewing content and updating based on industry trends and recent events
  • Lead on the logistics and set-up of the corporate crisis exercise programme, playing lead role to practice a range of scenarios and ensure processes are in a state of readiness
  • Set-up reviews and record findings following CMT activations and exercises
  • Administrate co-ordination of allocations for critical department fall back rooms
  • Be part of the on-call team roster that plays a key role in leading the airline’s response to a major aircraft incident or corporate crisis through the CMT
  • Become a subject matter expert in core resilience activities and be able to answer frequently asked questions including administration of team inboxes
  • Publishing content on the team intranet site, updating distribution and access groups in team SharePoint sites and coordinating communication with Crisis Management Team (CMT) department reps and humanitarian response volunteers
  • System super user including producing compliance reports in Clearview, creating / archiving incidents and running disruption reports post incident Activation

Our Corporate and Support roles come with big potential to make your mark on our business. The airline industry changes so fast that we’re constantly evolving and finding new ways to impress customers and get ahead of our competitors. If you’re an innovator and brave and bold thinker, you will be in your element at British Airways.

Your impact on British Airways will be rewarded with a competitive rewards package plus the opportunity to develop and progress your career in many directions.

Not only will you have the chance to further your career development within BA, you’ll have access to our competitive reward and benefits package. This includes core company paid benefits such as a Defined Contribution pension scheme, generous Life Assurance cover and a whole host of options to support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing. You can also sign up for a range of voluntary benefits such as Private Medical cover, Dental and Critical Illness cover, Technology Scheme, Cycle to Work and Electric Car Scheme. And of course, you’ll be able to enjoy the benefit of staff travel as soon as you join us
