If you’re after a rewarding placement opportunity then look no further! This is a fantastic 13-month Industrial Placement within Experian’s Business Operations team.

Business Operations is a fundamental team within Experian, as their work helps our business run smoothly. The team are responsible for key operational processes and are the link between various functions, carrying out various tasks to ensure that maximum revenue is returned from our existing and new clients. The team process orders for all verticals and carry out important processes such as providing client access, processing invoice requests, credit notes and identifying/fixing billing errors.

As a Business Operations Analyst you’ll be responsible for helping with process mapping, triaging urgent queries and maintaining materials for the sales team by supporting the Sales Operations team. You will also have chance to put your creative flair to use, through understanding our processes and suggesting enhancements for the future. We actively want you to challenge the way we do things.

Day to day you could be:

• Performing and submitting relevant onboarding checks for opening new accounts, to submit to Service and Billing.
• Processing opportunities to create orders, following guidance requirements and error checking
• Completing order administration tasks such as processing new user ID requests and issuing license keys on relevant products
• Handling queries sent into the business operations helpdesk within agreed KPI’s, prioritising urgent issues
• Focussing on process improvement – updating process maps and guides, identifying process gaps or process/system improvements
• Investigating challenges raised internally and by the client relating to billing and transactions and then fixing the root cause, raising credit notes where required
• Maintaining reports with up-to-date information to allow our BAU activities eg. billing and forecasting

Throughout this placement, attention to detail is key to ensure processes are followed correctly and meet compliance requirements. This placement is an ideal opportunity to really understand how a business operates “behind the scenes”, so don’t miss your chance!

To apply for this opportunity, you must be able to undertake a year in industry placement in 2023 as part of your undergraduate degree at a UK university. The placement will start in July 2023 and end in August 2024.

We welcome applicants from any degree background if you are confident using information and data to drive outputs. In most cases, our Business Operations Industrial Placement students study towards a Business or Numerate related degree for example.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal and essential as you’ll be working with a variety of people. You’ll also need to be highly organised and detailed oriented, have good time management skills and be able to prioritise workload. If you enjoy problem solving, collaborating with multiple stakeholders and have a good understanding if the Microsoft Office suite, this is the opportunity for you!
