Job description
Role purpose
Provide financial information and decision support to the Management Board and Divisional Commercial teams within the Business Unit; production of monthly management reporting; and, coordination of budgeting/forecasting processes, including preparation of monthly and long-term cash forecasts.
Key accountabilities
Operate as a business partner to the Fit Out and Agility Management Board and Divisional Management teams.
Support the business in making informed decisions by providing fact-based analysis to support financial and commercial proposals.
Work with the Fit Out and Agility Finance Manager and Finance Director to generate a suite of consistent analysis tools that support financial and commercial proposals.
Proactively identify opportunities, raise ideas and champion process improvements and cost saving initiatives to meet business objectives.
Financial Management and Reporting
Consolidate annual budgets for the Fit Out and Agility business.
Lead the review and consolidation of Fit Out UK overheads, delivering clear view of key risks and sensitivities.
Business partner to the Fit Out Enabling teams providing financial analysis, influencing behaviour to ensure Department Heads/Directors gain maximum value from expenditure.
Working with Divisional commercial teams, provide Finance Shared Service team with information to enable appropriate allocation of staff costs to projects.
Production of month end Management Reporting packs, including relevant KPI and commentary for presentation to Management Board, coordinating with Group Finance and Commercial teams to ensure delivery by agreed deadlines.
Coordination of forecasts and Strategic Plans/Budgets for the Fit Out and Agility Business including the provision of plan guidance to the Divisional Commercial teams (inflation, exchange rates, tax rates, staff rates, job costing assumptions etc).
Cash Management and Forecasting
Working with Divisional Commercial teams, understanding and challenging their project cash flow submissions.
Produce long term (12 Month) cash forecast, with sensitivities, including the impact of prospective new projects.
Monitor and report against the cash forecast KPIs.
Compliance / Governance / Transaction Processing
Following implementation of MS Dynamics Nav, work with IT and wider finance teams to develop and enhance processes and reporting.
Support the annual audit process, working with commercial teams and Group finance.
Work with overseas entities to ensure a robust process is in place for recharging costs of secondment staff and
Ensure the governance and approval policies issued by the Fit Out & Agility Group/ Management Board are adhered to.
Work with Finance Shared Service team to ensure that both internal and external accounting policies and standards are adhered.
Commercial
Monitor and take appropriate action to ensure full recovery of Enabling teams' costs, ensuring hourly recharge costs are fair and reasonable.
Provide appropriate financial information and advice to enable Commercial teams to best manage the project spend /Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) position.
Provide ad hoc analysis and guidance to support commercial driven projects.
Skills & experience
Demonstrable experience in a similar role
Strong management and financial accounting knowledge
Excellent communication skills – experience of liaising with financial and non-financial staff members from Board to junior level
Excellent organisational, time management and workload management skills
Computer literacy – experience of using core Financial Systems (experience of MS Dynamics Nav is an advantage) and strong Excel skills
Relevant construction industry or project/contract management industry experience is an advantage
