Job Summary
Eastern Washington University (EWU), a regional comprehensive university, is seeking a Business Manager for the EWU Professional & Continuing Education (PCE) unit within Academic Affairs.

The successful candidate will report to the Assistant Vice President for Professional & Continuing Education, providing essential operational duties throughout the unit. Primary responsibilities involve providing budget and resource management of the PCE unit including students, staff, and faculty. The position will be the program representative and resource for students and other campus partners. This individual will exercise independent judgment, discretion, and confidentiality, utilize delegated authority to make and implement plans, decisions, and commitments in areas related to university policies and department business operations. This individual has a comprehensive range of responsibilities including planning, personnel, purchasing, reporting, special project support, and other administrative functions. Core competencies for this position include professionalism, leadership, communication skills, organization, and analytical skills, and professional knowledge about the program.
This position requires the kind of teamwork and personal interaction that cannot be had entirely in a home office situation; therefore, regular, and predictable on-site attendance is required.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Five years of experience directly related to academic, student, and program support services.
  • Demonstrated budget development experience and leadership in providing fiscal guidance based on policies or regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with managing a variety of projects and tasks while meeting multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility, and/or diversity.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Business, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Experience working in Higher Education or a Continuing & Professional Education unit.
  • Working knowledge using an Educational Management System.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
