Overall Purpose of the Business Partner role
- This role is key to ensuring efficient and effective financial management for their designated areas of the organisation (Business Units (BU)) by providing finance partnering to key managerial and senior internal stakeholders, ensuring that all financial planning, implementation and monitoring is robust and effective.
- The Finance Business Partner holds a key position for the day-to-day provision of financial information for planning and control purposes. - To develop and support the financial management of the organisation by overseeing the processes and procedures for recognising income and expenditure in the
- This is in tandem with overseeing the full budgeting and management accounts process related to the relevant Business
- Carry out Primary or Review role on monthly finance payroll process.
- Working closely with internal customers to interpret data and provide analysis, interpretation and support as required
Business Partnering duties (for areas of responsibility as defined by HoF):
- Act as a single point of contact in Finance for representatives of relevant Business Units (as requested by HoF). Business Unit staff to include: operational Cost Centre Owners, business development leads and Heads of departments
- Improve, develop and issue reporting for management information and dashboards for above
- Lead system and process improvements to enable more accurate information and a better information
- Work with BU staff to develop narrative for
- Assist with regular rolling forecast of the expected outturn for the
- Take ownership of finance system and end-to-end processes relating to the above
- Partner with Heads of Departments, Cost Centre owners and other decision makers in modelling financial and strategic decisions
- Produce business cases analysis, investment appraisals, tenders, grant applications and other analysis for decision makers
- Ensure that all relevant financial systems and processes are effective, efficient and documented
- Lead the planning and delivery of month-end processes
- Lead the production of monthly, quarterly, and statutory and management reports and KPIs
- Reconciliations of relevant systems to enable accurate end-to-end processes and reporting
- Assist BU staff (including Cost Centre owners) in monitoring budgets and delivering operational targets
- Produce budgets for review with Cost Centre owners
- In concert with business units produce monthly management accounts narrative
- Carry out Primary or Review role on monthly finance payroll process (as requested by HoF)
- Work with Cost Centre owners and HR team to accurately maintain employees on the payroll system (Starters, leavers, terms, additional hours, tax codes, pension etc)
- Responsible for the maintenance, integrity and continuous improvement of the payroll system.
- Responsible for supporting the implementation of new and improved payroll systems as necessary. e.
- Responsible for ensuring the payroll is processed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Responsible for ensuring Statutory returns are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Responsible for ensuring that pension deductions are processed accurately and returns made in a timely manner.
- Responsible for ensuring that payroll/pension queries are resolved in a timely
