Salary: £18,500

Our team

During this apprenticeship, you will be part of the Central Business Systems teams within the Group Information Services (GIS). The Central Business Systems team is responsible for the implementation and full-lifecycle enhancement, operational support, and security of our internal systems. This includes our employee, Human Resource and SAP systems. We strive to understand the needs of the business and deliver new capabilities whilst maintaining the best possible operational service to our colleagues and customers worldwide.


About the apprenticeship Programme

For the duration for your programme, you will be studying towards a level 4 Software Developer qualification. Throughout your apprenticeship you will dedicate 80% of your time in work and 20% studying toward your qualification.


What you’ll be doing

Day to day, you will become immersed in our business-as-usual support by working and learning from a team of talented & experienced developers based across two countries


  • You will be designing and delivering exciting and innovative business intelligence solutions using dimensional modelling techniques & in-memory technologies.
  • There will be a focus on learning how to develop Business Intelligence data models as well as learn programming languages like T-SQL, DAX and script components in C#.
  • If you are successful, we will create a personal bespoke development plan tailored to your individual training needs, and work with you to grow your skillset in Enterprise level Business Intelligence development and solution delivery.
  • There will be a focus on technical skills in the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Cover learning modules which include communication methods in business, approaches to writing technical design documents, time and stress management as well as presentation skills.

What should you bring with you?

As you can tell this exciting role will give you a lot of skills and knowledge, but we do have some requirements upfront.


As well as a strong interest in IT you should be able to demonstrate the following.


  • For the apprenticeship qualification, we require you to hold a minimum of two ’s at GCSE’s grade C/4 or above in both Maths and English Language.
  • A level 3 qualification in a relatable subject or relevant experience.
  • We are looking for someone who has a high attention to detail and an organised approach to tasks.
  • Also be a good communicator who can express their ideas, whether verbally or written.
  • Any experience with software development would be preferred.
  • Have an interest in learning Microsoft Excel, Microsoft SQL Server stack (SSIS/SSRS/SSAS) or Microsoft PowerBI
  • More than anything you will have a passion for data and the potential it holds, a keen eye for detail and a drive to immerse yourself in and learn from an accomplished company that invests in future talent and technologies.
