What you will be doing:

An opportunity has arisen for an Business Development Manager to join the team at Galliford Try.

You will work within our Telecoms Business, which works predominantly within the UK’s Critical National Infrastructure market, focussing on the Wireless and Fixed Line Telecoms, Defence, Energy and Transport sectors.

We deliver multi-site telecoms programs, and our expertise in the planning, design and delivery processes, together with our specialist construction knowledge and experience, enables us to efficiently deliver fully integrated programmes and portfolios of work on critical operational assets.

Ideally, you will be based in or around the Leicester area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.

As Business Development Manager, it will be your role to drive and develop the 3-5 year business plan within the UK Telecoms and adjacent market sectors nationally, including analysing, researching, developing and acquiring new opportunities within the wireless and fixed line Telecoms markets.

As part of your role, you will develop and expand a business unit specific Customer Relationship Management System, undertake networking and provide insights and marketing Intelligence to the business unit.

Day to day, you’ll be preparing marketing literature and assisting the Management Team in preparation of sales strategies.

You’ll play a pivotal role in the development of initiatives and PQQ/Tendering.

Key roles and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to;

  • Establish a pipeline of business growth opportunities in the Telecoms and relevant adjacent market sectors.
  • Liaise with the Management Team, Senior Managers, Project Managers etc. to identify current and future customer requirements, to ensure opportunities for potential business growth within the existing Client base are not missed.
  • Liaise with other Galliford Try departments, and potential customers to identify business growth opportunities.
  • Understand Client needs for potential services in terms of;
  • Demand for service
  • Turnover/Spend potential
  • Method of Procurement
  • Attitude to price/quality alternatives
  • Changes needed to their business
  • Key people decision makers and influencers
  • Present company offering to customers’ needs in such a way to achieve competitive advantage
  • Risk Analysis carried out, thus ensuring all risks are identified for consideration against any given opportunity
  • Provide realistic budget estimates for any given opportunity.
  • Production and maintenance of a marketing strategy for future business planning
  • Complete monthly reports prior to the GT Telecoms board meeting for discussion
  • Promotion of company to clients and any external influences whenever the opportunity arises
  • Prepare and deliver high quality presentation, internally and externally (as required)
  • Produce a budget of annual spend on any promotional or research and development costs, as agreed with the MD

About You:

  • Experience within the wireless/fixed line telecommunications industries and knowledge of the current/future technologies
  • Excellent communicator
  • Previous experience on large scale telecoms projects/programmes
  • Ability to establish strong, collaborative working relationships
  • Commercial and financial awareness
  • Excellent team player
