Business Development Manager – Midlands – £50,000p/a plus package My client is recruiting for a Business Development Manager to create and convert new business, targeting the education catering marketplace as well as supporting with the development and delivery of the divisional sales plan. More about the role: Develop and own key customer relationships, leading to the delivery of profitable new business growth Identify and develop relationships with key future customers, implementing key Account Management techniques and focus on identifiable sales opportunities for each account Lead conversation’s with the prospective client during the sales lifecycle including advising to the bid team on the best approach to bid responses and to manage the expectations of the client. The gravitas to deliver presentations to prospective clients with the unique Food offering solutions, other selling points and advantages Listen and understand a prospective client’s main operational, cost needs, competitive requirements and desires ahead of bid and then ability to trailer and shape food offering services accordingly client and bid needs. Secure investment for individual bids and to successfully convert these opportunities into high quality service s. Assist in the development and management of sales plans and strategies Develop and manage opportunities within the corporate market place ensuring strong growth is achieved Manage the new business pipeline to a strong conversion percentage Support marketing activities including mailings, social media etc Compete tenders in a professional and timely manner Develop and manage a profitable network of relationships with both external and internal clients Who you are: Driven & motivated – always thinking about the next opportunity Has the ability to adopt their professional personality to a client needs Can understand the importance of the food offers which impacts the client experiences and drive commercial values Have the gravitas to develop robust relationship with multiple key clients Listen and understand the needs of a client and adopt our services offerings Innovation and passionate in the way you develop and delivery commercial values to your region and to the clients expectations Has successful experience of a sales and bids lifecycle and delivering operational goals. The ideal candidate will be able to show new business success within a food led business or within the Education sector. High levels of resiliency Strong listening skills & ability to work to highly pressured deadlines A good understanding of financial data Excellent business development or sales experience – preferably within the catering environment Proven sales track record Excellent customer service skills and a passion for closing the deal Strong IT Skills A background in education catering led business development is preferable, although other sectors will be considered.
