Job description

The Business Development Manager, Oil and Gas, be responsible for identifying, targeting and forging relationships with key owners and specifiers in the Oil & Gas market segment that align with our market segment strategy and tactical action plan. You will primarily drive project opportunities with select targets to ensure growth of the PPG brand in the Oil & Gas Market Segment in Western Canada. We are looking for effective communications skills, project management aptitude, leaderships skills and a strong ability to be a team player. You will be responsible for profitable growth in the focus market segment in Canada. Secondarily, you will provide market intelligence on market trends, product portfolio analysis (both lifecycle performance and gaps), and drive marketing literature needs to support field sales. You will report to the Infrastructure Segment Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve budgeted sales plan for the market segment within the identified region of Canada.
  • Achieve budgeted profit plan for the market segment within the identified region of Canada.
  • Build strong leadership relationships with internal stakeholders and leadership in Canada and the United States.
  • Build strong relationships with key owners and customer in the market segment within the identified region of Canada.
  • Work with our Engineering Sales and Project Management Team to support key/target projects.
  • Support internal training for our commercial sales team to drive core competences to secure share of wallet gains and new customers.
  • Provide demand forecasting for secured projects to support supply chain and production planning.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required, bachelor's degree preferred; with at least 5 years experience in B2B selling in the Oil & Gas Market Segment.
  • Valid Drivers License and Passport.
  • NACE CIP Level II or Greater or SSPC PCS certified.
  • Strong technical skills with Tank Linings, CUI, High-Performance Coatings, and Hydrocarbon Passive Fire Protection.
  • Approximately 50% overnight travel required.
