What you'll be doing day to day
- Carrying out departmental and individual training needs analysis and creating programmes of learning aligned to these.
- Helping subject matter experts to develop programmes of technical learning to ensure that we are developing well rounded professionals.
- Helping subject matter experts design - and where appropriate deliver - learning/programmes.
- Engaging with learning providers to ensure the right quality of training at the right time for the right price.
- Continually develop our ‘success profiles’ (competency framework) and contribute to the design and implementation of innovative, interactive and practical ways to encourage people to use these.
- Building on the development of a suite of blended technical learning solutions.
- Working with internal stakeholders to co-create/support overall strategy, create governance structure and quality assure technical training.
- Working with other People Services colleagues to ensure the administration and arrangement and monitoring of learning.
- Managing the learning and development budget, ensuring value for money.
- Overseeing professional qualifications across the firm.
- Line managing the Technical and Learning Coordinator.
About you
As a ‘hands-on’ Learning and Development Manager, you will have a strong understanding of the technical knowledge and experiences required in a modern, multi-site workplace where hybrid working is commonplace.
You will be able to diagnose individual and collective learning needs and make a positive impact on performance and potential at all levels across the firm.
As a great communicator with a good understanding of different learning styles and personality preferences you will be able to manage and influence a number of stakeholders, including those more senior and technically proficient than you.
You will enjoy and excel at managing and collaborating with a range of internal and external providers to design and ensure the effective delivery of technical training across the firm.
You’ll be client focused with an understanding of how to make ideas practical and relevant.
With project management experience you’ll be able to scope, plan, implement and evaluate Learning and Development interventions effectively.
You’ll have experience of developing and implementing a communication plan to support wider strategic objectives.
