This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of our Growth organisation. You will support the creation, development, planning and delivery of the EMEAA-wide Development Marketing strategy, with a focus on the Europe Business Unit.
The role focuses on the design and execution of a broad range of strategic engagement activities, the creation of marketing assets and solutions to drive IHG awareness, strengthen owners’ relationships, and support the IHG’s Development team in pitching and successfully sign new hotels deals and retain existing ones.
Your day to day
Development Owner Marketing & Deal support
- Work closely with the Europe Development team to understand key growth priorities which would in turn inform the broader EMEAA Development Marketing plan and tactics
- Liaise with the Development Planning & Performance team to ensure alignment on market priorities and performance
- Work with the Communications and Marketing teams to align priorities and activities in line with the regional growth ambition
- Directly responsible for sourcing, developing and maintaining relevant content that supports IHG Development strategy including brand decks, brochures, case studies, fact sheets etc. in line with the Development team’s content needs
- Work closely with the Brand, Marketing and Partnership team, and other functions as needed, to understand, outline, concept and recommend Owner facing content solutions that have the most impact considering the diverse audiences, brands, and delivery methods
- Serve as a point of contact for Development resources across the Europe Business Unit for data and marketing
- Ensure relevant marketing channels (incl. social) are identified and maintained to increase Owner and Investors reach
- Devise and execute against all steps in the design process from concept through production for all Development Marketing collateral in partnership with the broader EMEAA Development Marketing team to build and share best practices and resources across the region. Monitor and update the content available on the EMEAA regional site of the Development marketing website to ensure its relevance and overall appeal to an external audience. Liaise with creative agencies as required to support development of content and the distribution platform
- Work in partnership with the Developers and Brand teams where needed, to customize the content of pitch presentations for high value deals, to ensure this is relevant and most impactful to the target audience.
Owner Events
- Work with the Regional Development Leads in Europe to identify key industry and ad-hoc owner engagement opportunities as part of the yearly planning and budgeting process, in line with the regional strategy
- Liaise with industry event organizers and key suppliers (e.g. conference stand builders) to ensure the best value to IHG’s investment over the short and long term
- Responsible for the planning, conceptualizing (including submitting graphic visual & design proposals), delivery, and ROI assessment of industry events in the Europe Region; ensure content and proposals are regionally relevant, on brand and in line with the broader regional growth strategy
- Work with the Comms team to ensure relevant comms plans are in place for each of the event as planned for the region
- Responsible for managing and delivering ad-hoc Owner events, IHG Owner hospitality and Development internal meetings. Work with the Partnership team to identify opportunities to leverage IHG wide initiatives as a means to strengthen Owners engagement, growth opportunities and IHG brand awareness
- Manage the events & marketing budget, ensure accurate forecasts are maintained, and events are delivered in line with the plan
- Work in partnership with the Finance team to ensure purchase orders are raised, invoices are paid and overall reporting is accurate from time to time
- Support the broader EMEAA Events agenda at times of high demand for the Development Marketing team
- Responsible for resourcing and managing relevant talent resources, to ensure business needs are met at all times and succession plan is in place.

Someone with the innate ability to establish and manage strong internal and external stakeholder relationships through the use of strong influencer, analytical, negotiation, communication and consensus-building skills will perform well in this role.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or above in relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience in Marketing, PR, Brand, professional services and/or a consultancy environment, real estate marketing. B2B experience considered advantageous.
Experience
- Writing documents, reports and presentations for a sophisticated, commercially aware audience
- Stakeholder management
- Budget planning and forecast
- Planning and structuring business analysis
- Designing and writing compelling and visually attractive documents across a range of medium (PPT, InDesign, Adobe)
Technical Skills and Knowledge
- Excellent written English. A second European language proficiency would be considered advantageous
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, web-based applications and an openness to learning and adapting to new technology
- Knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, Basic HTML is preferred
- Strong conceptualization and design skills and awareness of how new technologies can help achieve presentation objectives
- Sensitivity to issues related to geographical, cultural and language differences that are often present in an international setting and would impact on the customization of the presentation to a specific audience.
