Business Development Manager (South West)

With our headquarters in Gloucester, Direct Online Services is a dynamic and progressive eCommerce-led omnichannel retailer of kitchen products. Founded in 2009, we have enjoyed consistent levels of profitable growth since inception, primarily through our flagship brand Worktop Express, the UK’s #1 online worktop retailer selling over 220,000 worktops per year to our B2C consumer base.
The business recently joined the €1bn+ global materials division of Broadview Holding (alongside Formica, Westag, Trespa, Arpa and Homapal), and are now looking to invest towards the future. We have significant plans to accelerate our growth over the coming years domestically and internationally, in existing and new product categories, both within Direct Online Services and also in collaboration with our Group colleagues.
Our people are a key area of investment for the business, and we are now looking a Business Development Manager to join our team and support these exciting growth ambitions, and the challenges that come with a rapidly expanding multifaceted business.
Job purpose
We have an exciting opportunity in the Trade department. WEX Trade supplies retailers, contractors and other B2B customers nationwide with our great variety of worktops. We need a new Business Development Manager based in the South West of England, to help facilitate our continued expansion in that area. This role will report into the Regional Manager (South).
Key responsibilities
· Assisting the Trade team in maximising its sales potential
· Providing new and existing customers with the highest level of service
· Calling on potential customers, with or without appointment
· Qualifying leads generated in-house by the WEX Trade team and generating leads for future development
· As the ‘face’ of the company, ensuring the overall customer experience is to the standards expected across the business
· Developing an understanding of the company and trade strategy, implementing actions to assist with achieving this
· Participating as an effective and willing team member to achieve individual and team goals
· Ensuring all field reports and logs are managed in a timely fashion adhering to GDPR guidelines
· Assisting with other trade tasks as necessary
This role enables you to use your creative skills to find new and innovative ways of generating business. You will have some autonomy to make your own decisions and will work closely with the rest of the team to plan local/national visits/calls and other activities to proactively promote and grow the trade aspect of our business. You will build strong relationships with customers ensuring their retention and development.

Desirable experience
· Previous experience of obtaining new business, developing customer accounts and working in a targeted environment is preferable
· Knowledge and experience of KBB industry would be beneficial
· Previous use of CRM software.
· UK Driving license is essential.

Salary: £32,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
