Hours: 35hrs per week
Location: Saica Paper Mill, 144 Manchester Road, Manchester, Greater Manchester

Salary: £10.90 per hour


In your new role as a Housekeeper you will work within the housekeeping services team, carrying out duties effectively and efficiently. You will ensure all equipment is kept clean, well maintained and in a safe working order, i.e. PAT tested etc and perform miscellaneous cleaning duties as required. You will understand the designated cleaning area, including the agreed work to be carried out and time allocated to the area. You will comply with all requirements of health and safety as well as be prepared to undergo training on all cleaning equipment, materials and approved chemicals used within the premises.

  • To clean for our client in office environment to be responsible to always maintain a high standard using the equipment and chemicals provided. Report any faults in the building to the appropriate person.
  • To maintain a client-based focus, be seen, be friendly and helpful, and be eager and willing to help.

Main duties are but not limited to

  • Ensuring the Reception environments are clean, tidy, and present an “unused'' feel when entered by a visitor, so the visitor experience is the “First person to have been welcomed that day”.
  • Ensuring the meeting room environments are clean, tidy, and presented in “unused'' feel when entered by a visitor, so the visitor experience is the “First person to use the room that day, ensure refreshment items are replenished and available, check white boards and sundry Items if applicable are clean and available.
  • Reset meeting rooms after use ready for the next meeting
  • Ensure washroom and changing room facilities are clean and presentable.

  • To service and clean as required all ladies and gents changing rooms and check consumables.
  • Check bins in reception, office areas, tea points and breakout areas empty if required, ensure external surfaces of bins clean and free of food waste.
  • Service clean breakout areas, ensuring tables and floors are free of dirt and debris, replenish consumables as required, ensure microwaves internal and external are clean and free of stains.
  • To act as a brand ambassador for the client.
  • To ensure professional service is delivered to client.
  • To be professional, pleasant, friendly, courteous, and helpful at all times whilst carrying out duties to the highest standard.
  • To ensure exemplary standards in personal grooming, always adhering to uniform standards.
  • To develop excellent working relationships with onsite customers.
  • To be visible and build relationships with all levels of user.
  • To be customer facing and customer service focused
  • To support the security and FM teams – Working as One Team.
  • Any other reasonable task as requested.

Job Overview

Deliver excellent service standards for the delivery of routine planned and periodic cleaning for a Mitie customer. Ensure the contract service delivery is of a high standard, meeting all SLA agreements whilst adhering to the cleaning schedules.

Main Duties

  • To undertake successfully all training required to deliver the cleaning role.
  • Individuals will be required to work within a team and can work under their own initiative.
  • Adhere to all Mitie Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain the designated area to an agreed level of cleanliness in line with the Contract and relevant SLA's, carrying out all daily weekly and periodic tasks as directed by the Cleaning Supervisor.
  • Ensure that the service is delivered effectively and efficiently to a high standard.
  • To ensure all equipment is kept clean, well maintained and is a safe working order.
  • To have a full knowledge and understanding of the designated cleaning area, including the agreed work specification and time allocated to facilities.
  • To have a full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and approved chemicals used by Mitie.
  • To build positive and productive working relationships with all customers, delivering excellent customer service and seeking ways to continuously improve and exceed expectations.
