A Business Development Manager – does what it says on the tin right? And we’re looking for just that.
With a strong knowledge of the shipping and logistics industry, you’ll be responsible for business development and account management as well as the day-to-day functioning of the commercial team. Within the role, we need you to be proactive in dealing with hot prospects, looking at dormant clients and reinvigorating leads and converting them to business opportunities.
The Business Development Manager will need to have impeccable work ethic worthy of imitation and be able to display the following leadership behaviours:

You’ll need to be able to build quick relationships with independent small businesses through to Boardroom presentations to global players in the industry. There will be lots of UK travel for client and site meetings, so you’ll need to be flexible and manage your own workload. You’ll need to generate your own enquiries and quotations as well as managing inbound requests for pricing, identifying leads, prospects, and potential projects.
The ideal candidate will be commercially driven, ability to be agile, and to work analytically on commercial problem solving tactics. We need you to have strong relationship building, coaching and project management skills whilst also being able to collaborate, influence and negotiate both internally and externally.
