Location
: Set on the upper reaches of the River Teign, the 24-bedroom Gidleigh Park enjoys an exquisite location on the very edge of Dartmoor National Park in Devon. With 5 AA red stars, a stunning quality led 1 Michelin starred restaurant and a member of Relais & Châteaux, Gidleigh Park is widely recognised as one of the best hotels and restaurants in the UK, and can offer learning and development opportunities few others can.



Gidleigh Park is open Tuesday to Saturday each week- which means for most employees they are guaranteed Sunday and Monday off each week! :) The hotel may also be able to offer on-site staff accommodation, in order to help the newest members of the team re-locate and settle in, and has free on-site parking.

Tips range from £200 to £350 per month, and there is a putting green, tennis court and croquet lawn to help pass the time on your days off too!

Role
: Reporting to the hotel General Manager, we need a strong Business Development Manager who’s great with people, loves sales and is target driven.


Key areas focus:


  • Develop an overall sales strategy for the hotel & support the hotel to implement that strategy.
  • Be articulate & confident in public speaking
  • Have strong commercial understanding of business aims and sales planning
  • Be accustomed to and enjoy being field based and supporting the hotels in a practical and proactive way.
  • Have excellent communication and negotiating skills, and experience training and developing a sales team.
  • Work well and efficiently under pressure, whilst being self-motivated
  • Attend relevant industry functions and provide feedback and information to the business
  • Oversee and manage the hotel’s social media accounts, using appropriate messaging to create awareness of the hotels and what they can offer.


Our dream candidate:

  • A naturally sales focussed individual, who is confident communicating to all types of people.
  • Have a proven sales record and an extensive “black book” of contacts
  • Able to travel regularly for the role, including overnight stays where needed.
  • Be good with IT, being able to produce and analyse sales reports and data regularly.
  • Has outstanding persuasion, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Has a good level of management experience, including ability to manage multiple projects and achieve sales target
