We have an exciting opportunity to join our Consumer Product and Retail sector, supporting work that makes a real difference in people’s lives, and which truly embodies EY’s purpose of Building a Better Working World. The Global Account Manager will work with strategic priority account teams to drive account growth across the breadth of EY services. The Global Account Manager is primarily responsible for implementing global account activation strategy and planning in collaboration with account leadership, supporting the account team to succeed.


Your key responsibilities

You’ll be working with the Business Development, Service Line, Field of Play teams and Regional GCSPs, ensuring that the best practice of account management globally is championed and implemented, enabling teams to be fully connected on major pursuits. You’ll be a key part the team that is driving growth on the accounts, leveraging thought leadership, best practice and market insights and supporting teams on RfPs. You will also drive effective, insight-led decision making in account teams, ensuring relevant systems are frequently updated & reporting on account activities is maintained and.


Account Management

  • Implement global Account Activation Center of Expertise (CoE) strategy, methodology and processes at Account level
  • Support account strategy working with account leadership and drive global execution of account plan ensuring focus upon new client meetings and revenue origination
  • Support service line planning activity and account integration
  • Prepare and facilitate account meetings (monthly performance meetings, engagement Playbook, procurement reports etc)
  • Driving relationship actions at multiple levels
  • Executing the ASQ process and win/loss debriefs


Sales and Program Management

  • Manage the annual global revenue planning process with account leadership
  • Manage select client relationships e.g., procurement and certain RfP processes/submissions
  • Own and manage Mercury working with GDS. Tracking the pipeline growth, ensuring its accuracy and reporting it to leadership on a regular basis
  • Support the account relationship strategy, including management of the global relationship map and the use of EY LENS across the account globally
  • Managing and scaling the pursuit process. Taking ownership where necessary to ensure compliance
  • Supporting opportunity leads and BDEs when preparing for key meetings or new client engagements


Communications and Administration

  • Serve as subject matter expert for all information related to the account and facilitate account introductions and cross collaboration across the account globally
  • Leverage EY resources to support the account
  • Manage Off-shore Account Coordinator/s if applicable – overseeing pipeline management, financial analysis, sales cycle support, client research, relationship map updates, plan management, lapsed pipeline, aged debt, margin analysis, FoP performance decks
  • Developing and managing account communications (e.g. client newsletters, value scorecards)


Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities

  • Champion and successfully implement the Global Account Management Framework
  • Will need to work on own initiative to make suggestions/recommendations to senior leaders in order to expedite results
  • Influence without direct authority, frequently providing coaching and input to a high level of firm leadership


Skills & attributes for success

  • Significant years of account management or similar relevant experience, including a track record of driving account management excellence
  • Proven ability to prioritise, work efficiently and under pressure
  • Professional Services experience preferred but not essential
  • An understanding of the UK Consumer landscape and ethos is an advantage
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, especially with senior stakeholders
  • Strong business/commercial acumen and an understanding of macro trends preferred
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint skills and comfortable presenting numbers
  • Effective in influencing and relationship building skills
