Role and Responsibilities (this is a broad but not exhaustive list)
As a ‘go to’ person, providing day to day support to the Guildford Senior Executive and Cheltenham partners in relation to:
Planning and budgeting
- Working with the Senior Executive & Cheltenham Partners on plans and budgets, as well as leading on the activation of some sub-plans
- Participating in relevant marketing & business development meetings and providing updates on activity.
Pitches and Credentials
- Creating first draft documents and supporting the creation of specific content for pitch and credential documents, both formal and informal, where appropriate
- Creating presentations.
Events
- Supporting on the planning and end to end delivery of a variety of targeted events, such as seminars, workshops, receptions and other client hospitality from brief stage through to the live event.
- Using Charles Russell Speechlys CRM tool, InterAction, to create, maintain and refine shared targets and other Marketing lists.
Marketing collateral
- Supporting the Senior Executive and Cheltenham fee earners in creating brochures, team sheets and other client facing materials
PR/Profile raising
- Supporting the Senior Executive in helping identify and coordinate PR activity
- Maintain and seek relationships with local businesses, identifying areas where we can support and get involved with activity.
Directory submissions
- Project managing and coordinating all directory submissions for the Cheltenham office
Digital
- Producing internal newsletters, including researching and writing articles
- Supporting the maintenance and updating of the Cheltenham aspect of the Firms website
- Updating specific webpages on the Firms internal website produced by the Cheltenham office
- Helping the Senior Executive to gather and report on relevant web analytics.
- Working with the Senior Executive and marketing communications team, helping in the delivery of social and other digital media
Firmwide initiatives
- Involvement in and support for local and Firm wide projects, initiatives or campaigns where appropriate and requested
Technical Skills
- Some knowledge of marketing databases is desirable but not essential (preferably InterAction)
- Computer literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Some knowledge of or exposure to email marketing systems or content management systems is desirable but not essential
- Experience in or knowledge of the legal industry or broader professional services industry is desirable but not essential.
Person Specification
- Degree or further education qualification in Marketing, Communications, Business Development or other relevant subjects
- Confident and good personal presentation
- A flexible approach with regard to daily tasks and working hours
- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
- A willingness to learn and take on board different kinds of tasks.

- Able to deal effectively with conflicting requirements
- Able to adapt and respond at short notice
