Lloyds Banking Group
Lloyds Banking Group is on a mission to build the bank of the future, and we need your help to do it!
Continuing our extensive transformation programme, we're redefining what a bank is from the inside out. Our technology, our culture, and our mind-set is changing to craft a true engineering-led organisation.
Where does this role sit
In the Risk Division, we recognise the impact data can have on operating a financial institution such as LBG and appreciate the sizeable opportunities data can bring to better serving our customers and growing the business. It is the foundation of our operation and is a vital component of building the Risk Function of the Future!
What will I focus on in this role
We're looking for a Lead IT Business Analyst to join the Risk Data Transformation team within Enterprise Risk Platform. Work will focus on transitions of data capabilities and processes to our strategic targets, as well as ensuring we challenge deviations to that target.
This role will focus on providing business analysis and initiative support within the Risk Data Transformation space. Initially your focus will be on supporting the migrations/upgrades/reimagining of the RDW Oracle Warehouse and SAS platform to Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
You’ll be expected to support the normal gambit of business analysis tasks specific to data systems and data initiatives, including requirements gathering & documentation, working with project staff to translate the vision into reality, translating technical to non-technical partners & presenting findings, supporting solution development & design activities as well as testing and post-go live activities.
Longer term, you’ll develop domain expertise in the data we’re responsible for.
We operate using a mix of waterfall style and agile development, so familiarity with both would be beneficial.
Specific activities might include;
  • Collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders to understand the solution requirements.
  • Business Processing Modelling & User/Data Journey Mapping.
  • Leading the charge on transitioning to the new Data estate.
  • Identifying generic patterns within the requirements to produce design blueprints that can be re-used by future use cases and/or recognise where existing patterns can be re-used
  • Understanding the data and requirements at a deep level to ensure the data that is delivered by the end solution conforms to the six Data Quality dimensions (accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness, uniqueness, and validity)
  • Working alongside the SME’s in the team to support the engineers working on the strategic vision.
Together, we make it possible!
What do we need to see from applicants
We like our teams to be as diverse as the customers and communities we serve and are really looking for someone passionate about data, ambitious and has a good problem solving mindset. On your CV, we need to see the following to consider you for interview;
  • Experience working as a mid to senior level Business Analyst
  • Experience working on data & change projects.
  • Intermediate to advanced coding skills in either SQL or SAS (must have)
  • Previous experience of Data Migration and ETL activities
  • Knowledge of Oracle and SAS Data Warehouse environments
  • You’ll be passionate about data and delivering high quality data-led solutions
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate tech savvy jargon to business facing colleagues.
Why else would you want to work with us
We are committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve. We have the scale and breadth to provide you with a wide range of training and development opportunities, helping you achieve a rewarding and fulfilling career. Join us and be part of an inclusive, values-based culture focused on making a difference.

With us you'll have a key role to play in shaping the financial services of the future, whilst the scale and reach of our Group means you'll have many opportunities to learn, grow and develop.
We keep your data safe. So, we'll only ever ask you to provide confidential or sensitive information once you have formally been invited along to an interview or accepted a verbal offer to join us which is when we run our background checks. We'll always explain what we need and why, with any request coming from a trusted Lloyds Banking Group person.
