Applications are invited for the position of Chair for the Department of Marketing, Business Economics & Law (MBEL) in the Alberta School of Business.
Reporting to the Dean, the Chair is responsible for the leadership and management of the department’s academic programs, budget and related activities. Eligible applicants will be full-time faculty members who hold a PhD and a distinguished record in university teaching, research and administration. The Chair appointment with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2023 is for a maximum five-year term, with the possibility of renewal. This internal posting is open to full-time faculty members who hold a tenured appointment in a relevant Faculty/Department at the University of Alberta.

Members of the department publish in leading journals in marketing (quantitative, behavioral, and managerial), and economics (international business, and natural resources, energy & the environment). We offer programs in undergraduate, graduate, and PhD studies. The department has 17 full-time faculty, 608 undergraduate students with declared majors/minors and 13 students enrolled in the Masters Program with specializations in Natural Resources, Energy & the Environment and International Business as well as 13 PhD students.
