Focus of the Role

The Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBI) advises reforming political leaders and governments on strategy, policy and delivery, with technology as an enabler across all three functions. In so doing we make a significant and positive impact for citizens around the world.

This year we are hosting an exciting summer Internship programme for ten weeks within our Internal Operations Team; a growing division of now over 60 colleagues, in UK, Kenya, Indonesia, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Singapore. This will be a rotational programme commencing late June 2023 for exceptional candidates who are interested in understanding how an organisation operates, in enabling and supporting sustainable growth alongside providing guidance, security and people support.

The ten week internship will give successful candidates a unique experience within five different teams; People, Legal, Finance, Digital, Security & Resilience and Technical Operations. All of which make up Internal Operations. You will have the benefit of an innovative programme of work, during which you will help support our teams with specific projects to meet our growing project demands. This will provide you with a real outlook on the broad range of work each team covers, alongside working with our internal and external stakeholders.

Our vision is to be a professional and service focussed Division that creates a structure of good governance, within a flexible operating model in support of the Institute’s goals and allowing the Institute to deliver its work.

During the Internship Programme, you will help create impactful change, be mentored by colleagues and receive a holistic understanding of life at TBI. For those who enjoy our Internship Programme and are excited by the growth and impact of TBI, you will have a solid foundation from which to apply for a full-time position at the Institute: Whether our colleagues are at TBI for a few years, or a large share of their career as they grow and progress within the Institute, their experience positions them to have a huge global impact.

Please note that applicants must have the right to work in UK and be able to relocate to London at their own expense for the duration of the internship. The compensation for this role is extremely competitive – more details on application.

By applying to this position, you will be working within each of the five teams for a defined period. You do not need to have an avid interest in all aspects of Internal Operations (IO); however an overall interest is desired.
