ESC is looking for a highly-motivated and engaged Business Writer to join our Provider Relations team; a self-starter committed to producing high-quality communications and documentation that contributes to the overall success of supporting ESC providers, ESC clients and their plan members. In this role, you will collaborate with multiple stakeholders and subject matter experts to obtain an in-depth understanding of our business processes, participate in RFP responses, and deliver communication products across various business domains.
Your business aptitude and ability to research, combined with your solid writing skills and talent, will be key to creating comprehensive, relevant, accurate and easy to understand content. You’ll look for ways to maximize content reuse and streamline processes, while ensuring consistency across our communication library. Your previous experience creating business content and desire to innovate will help us evolve our communication strategy and products that will drive optimal value for ESC providers and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop strategy, planning and scheduling tools to effectively manage communication deliverables
Develop and maintain business communication products for providers and plan members, including but not limited to newsletters, ad hoc communications, form templates, provider manual, claim submission kits, website communications, frequently asked questions.
Develop, maintain and follow established documentation, streamline processes, quality assurance processes and style guidelines
Edit peer work for clarity and consistency across all external facing communication and documentation
Coordinate with Translation Services to develop and maintain French documentation
Publish and distribute business communications and documentation to appropriate channels within established timelines
Actively participate in meetings and demos with a variety of business stakeholders to obtain in-depth understanding of ESC’s service delivery and process requirements
Collaborate with team members and contribute to discussions on innovative documentation delivery, standards, and styles
Maintain department Administrative Procedure Manuals (APM)
Liaise with external professional associations and pharmacy chains, coordinating new projects, communications, procedures, etc.
Support the Provider Relations department in provider contract amendments and negotiations
Participate in drafting and editing RFP responses
Manage multiple streams of work with parallel deadlines
Quickly learn and adopt technology, tools, and processes in a fast-paced agile environment
Continually seek opportunities to update your business knowledge, innovate
Work independently with limited or no supervision to meet deadlines
Coach, support, and mentor other members of the communications team
Oversee and contributes to initiatives and communications project work as assigned
Qualifications:
Post-secondary diploma or degree in a business, communications or related field
3+ years business writing experience, preferably in a healthcare and/or benefit industry environment
Impeccable English writing, spelling, grammar skills and proofreading skills
Proficient in the following applications:
Adobe Acrobat
Microsoft Office Suite
SharePoint
Superior verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Self-driven, curious, ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to provide leadership and mentoring to team members
Strong focus on quality and accuracy
Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Effective time management, multi-tasking and project prioritization skills
Considered Assets:
Bilingual (French and English)
Experience in health claims adjudication or health care insurance benefits
Understanding of Agile development methodology
Experience developing online help and knowledgebase
