Reporting to the Manager, Business Intelligence (BI) – Management Analytics, the Associate will leverage data, technology, and partnership across both the Investment Departments and Core Services to support these teams in their decision-making process required for the execution of their responsibilities. Within the Finance department, the BI team delivers visual and dynamic advanced analytical solutions by providing an integrated and independent view of key investment and business metrics with self-serve monitoring reports.
As an Associate, you will be responsible for various projects that involve multiple stakeholders.
Role-Specific Accountabilities:
- Strong ability to work independently and as part of the team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work on multiple simultaneous projects with occasional ad-hoc requests and manage time to achieve optimal results.
- Provide support to data management activities through adherence to standard practices.
- Lead and assist the infrastructure for the storage, integration and use of data and databases with the team.
- Leverage strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills to work with data providers and end users in assessing, transforming, and storing data for analytical and reporting requirements.
- Work with the team and Project Manager(s) to create feasible timelines, identify project risks and actively resolve issues.
- Lead conversations with groups inside and outside of the department to procure data, resolve technical challenges, and align on data agreements.
- A post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
- 5-7+ years of business analysis, data management technology and experience working on complex projects is required.
- Experience developing, documenting, coding, testing, and implementing technical solutions to meet business needs is required.
- Experience setting up data infrastructures and streamlining data with Python, Pandas, and SQL.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with large data sets with Python and SQL is required.
- Experience working with Cloud technology (i.e., Athena, RDS, S3), Tableau, Jenkins, Jira, and Confluence would be considered an asset.
