Short Description:

To work with the Business Services teams to support the HR and Business functions of the school under the direct supervision of the HR Officer.

Good communication skills with the ability to multi-task. You will have the opportunity to gain a wide range of administration experiences whilst working in a positive, friendly, and happy environment.

Working Week: Mon-Thurs 8-4 and Fri – 8-3.30, NB this is not a term time only position.

Apprenticeship length: Approximately 18 months

Future Prospects: Potential permanent employment as a Business and Administration Assistant.

  • Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship standard:
  • Preparation for end point assessment

Full Description:

An excellent opportunity to start an exciting career school business and administration and gain a qualification within a well-established and highly regarded special needs school.

To join our busy, friendly Business Services Team and work under the instruction/direction of the HR Officer. You will be supporting the delivery of all aspects of the Business service we provide to the school.

Main duties and responsibilities, as above and:

- Provide administrative support to the HR Team.

- Enter data into management systems and archive documents.

- Answering telephone calls.

- Opening and distributing the post, filing, photocopying, dealing with emails.

- To present the school in a positive way in the community

- To be aware of the sensitive nature of information learning during the course of duties and to maintain confidentiality at all times

- To follow the school policy on Safeguarding, equal opportunities and school relevant policies

- To be aware of, and have regard to, the Health and Safety policy of the school.

- To ensure that agreed procedures are followed in the event of an accident or incident.

- To undertake additional duties as required commensurate with the level of the job

- You will receive full training during your Apprenticeship

Skills and personal qualities required:

Literacy, numeracy, solution-focussed approach, a flexible person who can use their initiative and help to solve problems with strong administrative skills.

Adaptable, calm, patient, resilient, practically minded and a problem solver. An understanding, caring nature, with good interpersonal skills.

Desired or essential qualifications:

Level 2 Maths and English would be preferred

Employer Description:

Meadowfield has been rated by Ofsted as an outstanding special school for pupils aged four to 19, who have profound, severe and complex needs. These include profound and multiple learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties and autistic spectrum disorders. All pupils have a statement of special educational needs.

Meadowfield Nursery provision on site, which offers observation and assessment for up to 18 children who are dual registered with mainstream nurseries. These children attend two or three sessions a week.

Children attend full time in the Reception class and we have forty-four students aged 16 to 19 attending the sixth form. Some attend courses part-time at Canterbury

College and Mid-Kent College.

Meadowfield manages and provides an outreach specialist teaching and learning service for the local authority to 60 schools in the Swale area.

Meadowfield has gained the Leading Parent Partnership Award.
