Description of the Business Line or Department
SGKHUK DFIN are the ultimate owner and arbiter of SGKH Groups Financial Statements, Prudential & Statistical regulatory returns. They follow all the relevant International Financial Accounting and Regulatory rules, regulations and standards to meet this objective.
Kleinwort Hambros DFIN COO is the oversight point and the interlocutor of other Group central divisions for the deployment of instructions, procedures, projects or tools of the Group on the DFIN perimeter. It is the entry and coordination point for operational tasks related to the “Business as usual” (BAU) to support and develop Finance on behalf of the CFO. It is also responsible for the transformation of Finance under the “Change the bank” (CTB) remit, overseeing the roadmap, budget and steer on behalf of the CFO. The COO position target is to ensure the safe secure and successful running of SGKH DFIN BAU tasks and the delivery of its objectives to the SGKH entity and SG group as a whole
Summary of the key purposes of the role
1 – Support the SGKH DFIN COO Team in fulfilling their mission statement by working with the different team members across both the Operations & Project perimeters.
2 –Work closely with the wider Finance teams to understand their objectives, their key challenges and how best to address them
3 – Contribute to SGKH Finance Transformation Projects & Initiatives. The Business Analyst is looking for opportunities to improve Finance Processes and work on their implementation under the supervision of the COO
4 – Contribute to the day-to-day operational success of the department through the monitoring of key governance functions to increase finances value to the wider Business & the SGKH Group
The role will report locally to the DFIN Chief Operating Officer
Summary of responsibilities
- Contribute to the delivery of some initiatives on their perimeter according to the objectives agreed with their manager within timeframe and at the level of quality required
- Maintain and regularly communicate to management a full-scope Project/Initiative status report with the key stakeholders
- Maintain a department capacity heatmap, used to facilitate the COO & other managements planning
- Organize working groups with different stakeholders to facilitate the successful delivery of projects & initiatives assigned to them by their manager
- Coordinate the delivery of the business requirements and agreement with stakeholders
- Review and pro-active challenge solution and deliverables to ensure adherence to quality standards
- Assist in Change Management
- Act as the administrator for the Change Forum which coordinates the planning, testing & timing of digital changes which impact the department
- Elaborate with stakeholders a Change Management strategy
- Challenge impact analysis and choice of relay for change
- Monitor actors’ adherence to change
- Document key discussion on topics assigned by their manager to evidence critical business decisions and proactively prepare & coordinate next steps required to deliver
Profile required
Competencies
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Office Suite,
- Understanding of new Digital Technologies,
- Knowledge of the change management processes
- Understanding of the Banking industry & the purpose of the Finance & Treasury Departments
- Banking IT architecture (FO to Accounting) would be a plus
SOFT SKILLS:
- Good interpersonal skills; to be able to communicate convincingly with the key stakeholders
- Ability to quickly give a synthetic overview (good oral & written communication) & communicate with top management
- Coordination skills (across and between the teams in DFIN and other departments)
- Ability to analyze/handle complex issues (strong analytical sense) & propose effective solutions
