The Team and role
We are seeking a Business Analyst to join the Business Management team at Man GPM. The function is responsible for the strategic and operational oversight and management of Man’s private markets investment activity and the role will support the Head of Business Management – GPM UK/EEA.
The Business Analyst position covers the coordination of business activities in close collaboration with internal stakeholders and senior management, and the running of operational workstreams to deliver outcomes that contribute to effective risk management, business efficiency and growth.
In addition, the position will support strategic initiatives and projects, in particular the delivery of affordable housing in the UK as part of our RI and ESG-aligned Community Housing strategy.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects as required, originating from Man GPM strategic objectives and/or Man Group central requirements (e.g., governance matters, regulation changes)
- Lead on the planning, preparation and coordination of materials and meeting activity related to Community Housing’s regulated affordable housing activity, including for Board and Audit & Risk Committees
- Act as a key point of contact across investment and infrastructure teams to facilitate effective operations, risk management and delivery of strategic projects and initiatives
- Own the administration of core business technology systems including Sharepoint sites and OpenPages, including ad hoc troubleshooting
- Support senior management with ad-hoc and regular reporting (including preparation and coordination)
- Assist in the review, maintenance and updates required to a range of business policies, procedures, and terms of reference documents
- Drive business efficiency: identify and implement general process improvements
- Management of ad-hoc non-investment issues and activities
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong sense of ownership over work product with attention to detail
- Organised and diligent with ability to multi-task and execute on tasks to meet deadlines
- Excellent writing skills; capable of producing high quality written work suitable for distribution to Directors of Boards and Audit & Risk Committees
- Ability to form productive working relationships and collaborate with individuals across business functions within Man Group
- Experience within asset management and an understanding of the transaction lifecycle desirable
- Strong academic record with a degree from a leading university
