An opportunity has arisen for bank porters to work in the portering department at Grantham Hospital
These roles are based on an ad hoc basis to cover annual leave and sickness.
There are no guaranteed hours.
Applications are invited from enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals to join the Estates and Facilities bank Portering team. This high profile role calls for good communication skills and experience of working closely with the general public. You will need to be able to cope calmly and effectively with both routine and emergency situations, and be a compassionate, professional and courteous individual.
Porters are part of the Facilities department providing 24 hour cover for all wards and departments on the Grantham hospital site.
This is a varied and interesting post involving the movement of materials and patients around all departments on the Lincoln Hospital site
Work pattern will be on an as and when required basis to cover for sickness and annual leave and will include early, late and night shifts as necessary to provide a 24 hour service. Requests to cover shifts may be made in advance as rosters are produced or to cover sick leave etc. at short, possibly same day, notice.
Experience of working in a public sector environment would be an advantage.
You will need good communication skills. Porters interact directly with the public so customer care is very important in this role.
