Scottish Water has an exciting opportunity within our Transformation Team, for a Business Analyst. Do you have a curious mind and a knack for numbers and analysing business dependencies? If so, we want to hear from you!
Transformation at Scottish Water has recently moved to a new phase - developing the long-term plan for transforming our business. Several major transformation activities are currently underway, or in the pipeline to start. We are looking for people with skills to enable us to plan, manage and deliver projects across the business and deliver on commitments to our customers to transform our business.
We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our Transformation Delivery Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an outcome focused individual with great problem solving and communication skills to join the Transformation Delivery Team as a Business Analyst where Agile projects are delivered across the full life-cycle, to required cost, timescale and quality parameters.
Within the team, your role is to work with the Programme/Project Manager, supporting the delivery of Transformation projects. You will be required to work with teams across multiple directorates in Scottish Water and a range of external partners.
Responsibilities:
  • Analyse data
  • Using PowerPoint decks translating core data and information into appropriate context
  • Work as part of the project team to further develop benefit cases
  • Assist in KPI’s development
  • Development of Power BI reporting
  • Support comms stories with appropriate data analysis
  • Take part in meetings with Partners and support agile approach of working
  • Highlight suggestions for continuous improvement
  • Provide support with ad hoc activities prioritised by Workstream Lead and Programme Manager
Essential Skills and Capabilities:
  • Ability to manage large amounts of data in Excel including pivot tables, graph creation etc.
  • Highly engaged team member with great attention to detail
  • Works naturally as part of an Agile project team
Additional Skills:
  • Understanding of operational function advantageous
  • Miro Board skill, advantageous but not essential
  • Creation and maintenance of Power BI reporting, advantageous but not essential
  • Be self-motivated and possess excellent self-management skills
  • Be an excellent team player and communicator
  • Be open minded and willing to learn
  • Be creative in your problem solving
  • Be incisive scrutinising the detail

What you’ll get:
The salary band for this role is £31,380 - £38,500 per annum, dependent on skills and experience.
