JOB TITLE: Business Analyst
SALARY: £56,421 - £62,690
LOCATION(S): Bristol or Manchester
HOURS: Full-Time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least
two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

About this opportunity
This role will sit within the Data Product Workstream of Strategic Data Products Programme. Data – the Crown Jewels of the bank, key to the Group’s strategy and at the centre of its investment programme.
In Data & Machine Learning, we 're shaping the Group’s ambition by enabling the bank to gain value from data by providing safe and efficient Group wide data capabilities and services.
The Business Analyst will enable and craft solutions that move data from source to target and ensure the data is of a high quality.
If you decide to join us on this journey, you'll find yourself:
  • Leading and coaching the team of BAs to analyse technical and business data, allowing us to identify solutions which will make the greatest difference and add most value
  • Producing (and supporting others to produce) business requirements / scope documents and gaining approval from stakeholders.
  • Working in a hybrid delivery model (Waterfall / Agile)
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and collaborators to understand, refine and clarify the business requirements.
  • Manage key relationships between Data & Machine Learning & Platform Teams across Retail, IP&I and Commercial
  • Work with Platform teams to understand their data strategy & how D&ML can support their data requirements.
  • Liaise across multiple delivery teams supporting the delivery of a single view of the Platform story/ delivery roadmap (including their journey from on-prem to Cloud)
  • Own the Engagement Forums that connect Platform teams with Data & Machine Learning (e.g., prioritisation, capacity/ demand management)
  • Lead virtual teams of SMEs to shape new use cases to provide high level cost estimates and designs.

What you'll need
  • Strong and demonstrable experience within Business Analysis gained from within financial services organisation.
  • Solid understanding of retail & commercial business products within retail banking sector
  • Strong and demonstrable experience with Data Analysis techniques.
  • Previous experience working on large and/or complex data driven projects / programmes
  • Previous background in leading teams of Business Analysts & Data Analysts.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder & relationship management including business as well as technical colleagues.
  • Ability to translate between business requirements & docs into functional specifications.

Any experience of these would be really useful
  • Data migration related project background
  • Experience in developing data concept models.
  • Hands on experience with SQL or similar languages
