As a Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in capturing and understanding the business needs and requirements that enable our data engineers to build the right solutions. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders from various departments and teams, using structured methodologies such as workshops and interviews to gather and document business needs and requirements. Your ability to translate these requirements into actionable insights will be instrumental in creating a technical delivery plan. You will collaborate closely with data architects, product owners, and delivery teams to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of projects.
What you’ll do:
- Capture and document business needs and requirements using structured methodologies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective involvement of data architects in defining new initiatives.
- Develop robust requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and needs analysis.
- Work closely with product owners, delivery teams, and architects to ensure successful project delivery.
- Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders to support the creation of test cases.
- Ensure adherence to data and insight product processes, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support data area architects in maintaining design direction and escalate design issues as necessary.
- Create and maintain agile backlogs and release plans in accordance with British Airways' standards and methods.
Who we're looking for:
We are seeking individuals with significant experience in capturing business requirements in a technical department or company, coupled with a good understanding of data and business analysis methodologies. You should be comfortable working with data and data technologies, and your excellent communication and facilitation skills will be essential in collaborating with stakeholders. At British Airways, we value adaptability, agility, and a passion for continuous improvement. Your ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and navigate complexity will be crucial to success in this role.
In addition, you'll bring:
- Knowledge of data departments and data products (desirable)
- Recognized Business Analysis qualifications (e.g., BCS Certification in Business Analysis) (desirable)
- Numeric Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Sciences, or equivalent (desirable)
- Familiarity with data cloud solutions like AWS and Snowflake (desirable)
- Experience with agile methodologies (Product Owner, Scrum Master, SAFe Agilist) (desirable)
- Project Management accreditation (desirable)
