We have an exciting new opportunity for a Business Analyst to help us understand the tools and solutions we need to enable better collaboration across the organisation in our new hybrid working world.
About the role
The Colleague Solutions (People and Culture) team is responsible for Workday and other tools which help the organisation recruit and retain talent. We have an exciting new opportunity for a Business Analyst to help us develop these tools, to ensure the best possible experience for our employees and help them fulfil their career potential.
You will be responsible for analysing the needs of business stakeholders across the organisation to help identify and prioritise their requirements. Business Analysts work at all levels and are expected to challenge, lead and provide advice, working individually or as part of domain and cross-domain change initiatives. Interaction may be across all of Cambridge University Press & Assessment, product and delivery teams, IT systems, external suppliers and partners.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify the right requirements to carry forward, assess their feasibility and support the prioritisation process according to evidence-based benefits analysis.
- Develop clearly documented, traceable requirements (business, functional, non-functional, etc) for moderately to highly complex change initiatives. Ensure stakeholder understanding of prioritised requirements and their alignment to desired goals and outcomes.
- Undertake as required business system processes, data mapping and modelling, customer journey mapping, pain-point analysis, wireframing etc.
- Assess the implications of business change, analysing and mapping business processes and identifying the activities, such as new business rules, new business processes, needed to transition to new ways of working.
- Develop RFI and RFP documentation as part of any package selection process and work closely with solutions architects to formulate effective solutions, including non-IT solutions where appropriate.
About you
You will enjoy support of and/or consultation with wide ranging stakeholders to elicit and articulate clear customer and business goals. Focus on understanding customer problems and identify opportunities for improvements to drive efficiencies across the organisation. Apply and evolve the Business Analysis team standards to analysis approaches and outputs. Embrace new challenges, building the right environment for the successful undertaking of analysis with drive their own professional development.
By using the application of agile techniques and focus on the improvement of the organisation and the business processes. Demonstrable experience of the application of analysis techniques, e.g. epics/user stories, BPMN, UML, MoSCoW, SWOT and The 5 Whys. Be proficient at employing a variety of common tools for requirements management, wireframing/prototyping, modelling, collaborative working, etc. With experience of a variety of delivery management methodologies (e.g., waterfall, agile, hybrid.
