Job Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, IT Business Applications, the Business Analyst develops solutions to business and technology-related problems. This includes analyzing user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve system capabilities. Role and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate technical meetings to define solutions, functional specifications, implementation plans, effort, identify resources and schedule activities
- Develop project estimates by identifying phases and elements, personnel requirements, and costs ERP system roll-out; support and development
- Provide project level analysis – producing required project analysis documentation (business requirements, scope matrix, use cases, sequence diagrams, future state proposals, UAT plan)
- Collaborate closely with developers to implement the requirements, provide necessary guidance to testers during QA process
- Understand and negotiate needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders
- Serve as a liaison between Operations and IT to assist or gather business requirements needed for system modifications, enhancement and implementations
- Assist with and test implementation requirements to ensure data transfer collection, quality and reporting relationships are working appropriately
- Create and maintain issue logs, meeting minutes, meeting schedules, project summaries and updates.
- Create and maintain project schedules by developing project plans and specifications, estimating time and resources, monitoring milestone completion, tracking all phases of the project lifecycle, providing timely reporting of issues that impact project progress, coordinating actions and resolving conflicts
- Meet with project team regularly to review project deliverables, develop and execute test plans
- Support system conversions, upgrades, enhancements
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Post-secondary school degree Computer Science, Information Systems or related field is preferred
- Proven ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Applications, and other BA tools
- Minimum of 5 years working as a Business Analyst with an existing ERP
- Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements and/ or process workflows
- Experience with project delivery framework, application development and/or program management experience
- Experience with accounting, accounting modules and financial reporting
- Experience installing an ERP considered an asset.
