Business Analyst | Circa £44,000 negotiable + excellent benefits | Permanent* | Hybrid |* Thatcham, Berkshire
Do you have previous experience as a Business Analyst and a proven track record of delivering system solutions? Come and join our Business Systems team and help us optimise the internal systems that support our cutting-edge automotive research and repair business. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation and adoption of core business systems in areas such as CRM, Finance, HR, Business Intelligence.
Working on a range of tasks, from process improvements and user training to minor enhancements and large-scale deployments of commercial off-the-shelf systems, they’ll be plenty of opportunity for you to develop deep levels of system expertise as well as manage multiple varied and concurrent projects.

What will you be doing?
- Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Collaborating with stakeholders to elicit, document, and prioritise business and technical requirements for system enhancements, modifications, or new implementations.
- Process Mapping: Document and analyse existing business processes to identify opportunities to optimise and streamline workflows and propose innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation, including functional specifications, diagrams, and process flows to facilitate clear communication and understanding among stakeholders.
- Solution Evaluation: Evaluate and recommend solutions that align with business goals. Conduct feasibility studies and impact assessments to guide decision-making on system implementation.
- System Design and Integrations: Design and integrate with existing systems in our current environment.
- Testing: Assist in the testing and quality assurance of systems, verifying that they perform as expected and meet user requirements.
- Project Management: Collaborate with Project Managers to develop project plans, track milestones, and ensure timely delivery of system implementation within budget and scope. You may also be required to project manage smaller scaled projects.
- User Training and Support: Provide end-user training and support during system implementations to ensure successful adoption and utilisation.
- Monitor and evaluate: Measure system performance, identifying areas for continuous improvement and optimisation.
Skills & experience that will make you comfortable in our team:
- 3 years as a Business Analyst or Product Owner, specialising in system implementation. Candidates with system implementation experience in different roles will also be considered.
Requirements Gathering & Process Mapping: Proficient in leading workshops and delivering presentations to stakeholders with confidence. Eliciting, documenting, and prioritising stakeholder requirements while mapping current and future processes.
- Stakeholder Management: Become a trusted partner to the business. Experience building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders to set expectations and manage difficult situations.
- Effective communication: Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey information clearly to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong Analytical Skills: Experience analysing complex information and identifying patterns to facilitate decision-making.
- Tools & Frameworks: Knowledgeable about industry-standard tools for process mapping, data analysis, and project management and how to flexibly apply them to existing Thatcham culture and process.

You excel in stakeholder management, adeptly navigating diverse situations with the ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines ensuring successful completion of projects in line with scope and budget. You have a natural curiosity to explore the interactions and interdependencies among various system components, allowing you to uncover underlying causes and root issues. You love problem solving and can employ creative solutions to tackle challenges encountered throughout system design, implementation and enhancement processes. Effective communication and a collaborative mindset will ensure your success in our dynamic environment.

When we work
Our standard working hours are* 8:30 - 16:30* Monday - Thursday, 8:30 - 15:45 Fridays (talk to us about flexible working if this doesn’t quite suit you!)
How we work
Our blended working approach means you’ll spend time working from our head office in Thatcham and from home should you wish to. Our Business Systems team typically work in the office 2-3 days a week.
