Business Analyst - HR Function

The Digital Operations Solutions Partner is a role within the UK Digital Operations Team that forms part of the growing data and digital transformation organisation focusing on delivering the vision of the Chief Data Officer. Digital Operations Solutions Partner role acting as a proxy product owner focused on process analysis and exploitation of digital tools. The role will look to identify opportunities within the business and functions and deliver operational changes to drive positive business outcomes.
This role requires a hands-on person who will drive the creation/use of conceptual and logical models and work with functions to understand existing ways of working and define products or changes to help improve performance.
This position also deals with the tactical day-to-day aspects of digital operations and the delivery of artefacts from the team. The role requires individuals who are able to assess, describe and document both the current and future state of processes, data models and tool integration. Discovering, validating, documenting and communicating through modelling, simulating and analysing. This solutions partner will focus on the hire to retire end to end business process.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
Facilitate requirements gathering and capture sessions with the UK business and functions to define data process ways of working and highlight areas of improvement and business outcomes.
Produce and review artefacts in support of the digital operations lifecycle
Accountability for the delivery of the squad roadmap
Support the scrum master for the squad, managing and prioritising backlog and managing blockers
Use process mining techniques to use data to support process decisions and shape solutions
Develop benefits use cases and models to support future plans of work, aligning to business priority outcomes.
Use digital operations process and methodology to understand the digital product requirement from the business or function.
Develop new and refine existing data standards, policies and procedures by working closely with the business, functions and data owners to develop and implement best practices policies
Liaise with business units to define data quality measures, which will drive improvements within our core systems and introduce an enterprise-focused approach across the business and systems.
Continually assess and identify risks in line with the risk management approach, ensuring they are mitigated within the data governance programme
Assist with the Data governance processes to protect and secure Thales data while seeking to explore exploitation and collaboration opportunities.
Be an interface between the Data Management Team and the Business / Functions in the Data space.
To use industry standard Business Analysis and Lean techniques to capture requirements and design solutions to meet the business needs.
Ensure that critical business information is available in a timely and accurate manner.
Manage key internal stakeholders to ensure and promote collaboration between the Data Management organisation, UKIS and the Thales UK businesses.
Will act as an advocate for the digital operations team, its approaches and ambitions.
Work with the change manager to understand change impact and develop change, training and communication material
Support the Thales UK businesses to adopt common processes and toolsets.
Skills & Experience
Good all round knowledge of applications used in key business functions (PLM, ERP, PMO tools, reporting Platforms etc.)
Experience of Workday or similar HR ATS
Hands-on experience with modelling, analysis and simulation tools.
Able to organise and facilitate groups in workshop settings.
Knowledge and experience in business process modelling and analysis tools.
Quantitative and qualitative analysis, including business process metrics and measures linking to business KPIs.
Business Analysis skills to identify business needs and determine solutions
Ability to be able to deliver training material, process briefings, requirements capture etc
Understanding of the importance that data and digital efficiency play in support process and managing a business.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Squad leadership by example
Understanding of project management principles and processes.
Ability to drive and deliver change management activity.
“As-is” data process discovery and analysis and "To be" data process modelling and analysis.
Able to deliver using established Thales project delivery processes.
Understanding/Empathy with Business Change/User Change impacts
Understanding of how the different business functions interact and to be able to translate these interactions in to joined up solutions and processes.
Excellent skill level in common office tools (MS office suite etc).
In depth knowledge of Thales UK (or similar) businesses, organisation and processes gained through working in operational roles
Knowledge of Chorus 2.0 processes (or similar) and the regulatory framework that Thales operates within.
Involvement in business transformation activities
Knowledge and experience in business process modelling and analysis tools.
Able to build excellent relationships with key internal and external stakeholders based on trust and confidence.
