Avaliable Job Today We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our Development team – This is a Permanent role.
We are looking for someone with working experience of Software Development Processes with a solid understanding of SCRUM, Agile and waterfall delivery methods. This is a fast-paced environment, so it is essential that you can manage a changing list of priorities.
This position is home based
Purpose of the role:
This is a significant role within our Development team to work with Product Managers other key stakeholders to elicit and analyse business requirements, both functional and non-functional, and build them into product backlogs to enable development teams to deliver product changes within defined product release cycles. You will be involved in the end-to-end software development lifecycle from product idea to releasable software, following Agile / SCRUM principles, working closely with the product and development teams.
This role reports into the Business Analysis Team Lead.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Elicitation and Analysis of Business Requirements for Product Change
- Understand and consider all stakeholder perspectives
- Identify the core problem that a requirement is trying to solve
- Able to adapt to changes in requirements
- Fully understand the requirements and the capabilities of the product(s) you are working on
- Take the initiative in planning and leading the analysis work needed for your assignments
- Take responsibility for owning the requirement and seeing through from start to finish with the development team
- Able to offer a range of potential solutions that would meet stakeholder requirements, along with benefits and disadvantages of each solution
- Identify and undertake improvements to the Business Analysis role as part of continuous improvement within the Analysis Centre of Excellence
- Represent the business analysis team, recommending our best practices, for example, behaviour driven development, into new workstreams where needed
- Taking on SCRUM master duties where development teams need direction and structure
- Prioritise the SCRUM team’s backlog ensuring that there is always a minimum of two sprints worth of work items refined
- Build and maintain expertise in SSS products and services
- Support live operations and analyse operational and customer faults and issues where needed
- Build rapport with all stakeholders and reach out for support when required
- Collaborate with the Analysis team (Business Analysts and UX Analysts) to agree a solution which meets the customer’s needs and within budget
Our ideal candidate will have/be:
- Working experience of software development processes, with a solid understanding of SCRUM, agile and waterfall delivery methods
- Experience [FK(PS1][PS2] as a Business Analyst in a software development environment working closely with product managers, owners, developers, and testers to build a product backlog for delivering product changes
- Experience of leading and facilitating workshops to gather requirements, decide options and design processes
- Experience of collaborative and matrix teams including coaching and support for colleagues
- Formal Business Change and Process Improvement methodology would be advantageous as well as Public Safety Sector/ Emergency Services knowledge and experience
