What’s the role?

As an IT Business Analyst, you will be responsible for identifying and documenting the business needs of stakeholders and helping to determine feasible solutions to meet business needs and deliver value. You’re going to be providing support for strategic business projects and other improvement initiatives. You’ll thrive on providing analysis, insights and advice, backed by solid data. More specifically, your role will include:

  • Analyzing business goals and objectives by engaging with various stakeholder across our business
  • Precisely capturing business problems, value drivers, and functional/non-functional requirements, including health, safety, security, usability, data, and supportability considerations.
  • Providing your view on how IT and new digital technologies can help achieve those goals and objectives
  • Assessing and modelling processes, data flows, and technology to understand the current value and issues, and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Developing clear recommendations, underpinned by data and a solid business case
  • Create and present compelling business cases to justify solution value and establish approval, funding, and prioritization
  • Supporting our business in its digitalization journey and to become a more data centric business
  • Embedding solutions to maximize value realization
  • Maintaining oversight of the IT application portfolio and identification of opportunities for improvement, rationalization and cost competitiveness
  • Owning the roadmap for a sub-set of the IT application portfolio
  • Understanding of the existing and emerging IT products & services being offered by Global IT Portfolios
  • Interfacing and building relationships with development and operational support teams from various parts of the Global IT Function
  • Understand and stay abreast of relevant architectures and technologies related to a business area. Research potential solutions and innovative ideas. Guide and manage interactions with technology vendors

What we need from you

We are keen to hear from the candidates with below skill set.

Essential Skills:

  • Significant experience as Business Analyst working in IT background
  • Experience in business analysis techniques
  • Experience delivery of IT product/services
  • Able to act as a focal point for a specialized area (technical or business)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication, presentational skills and stakeholder engagement
  • Demonstrates a concern and aptitude for considering the user’s perspective in IT solutions

Preferable Skills:

  • Preferably an education at degree level (MSc, BE, or an equivalent professional qualification) in Business Administration, IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related disciplines
  • Experience in and Oil & Gas would be beneficial but not essential
  • Experience and track record in Change Management and Embedding
