Business Analyst

Salary – up to £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus bonus and benefits

We are currently looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join our team in Sale on a flexible hybrid basis. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team, to review, analyse and design business solutions and processes that improve the effectiveness of the organisation, ensuring that the designs and processes that are produced, deliver the desired functionality, and meet the business objectives. This role would suit an individual with significant experience as a Business Analyst within Financial Services, with a proven track record of business analysis, process mapping, requirement capture, producing specifications for new and changed processes, and these solutions providing good business value.

This role offers you the opportunity to:

  • Understand business needs as they relate to potential change or transformation.
  • Influence customers’ expectations / view of their requirements by outlining issues, constraints and opportunities.
  • Gather, identify and document business requirements, and where necessary, simplify technical jargon and translate to non-technical or commercial terms that can be understood by non-technical teams.
  • Facilitate requirement prioritisation through challenging business needs and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Contribute to, or lead, the evaluation of solution options to business problems, developing a full understanding of the impacts, systems, processes and rules.
  • Business process analysis, mapping, modelling and re-engineering to achieve business process improvement including costs and benefits modelling.
  • Support Functional and User Acceptance Testing as required – to ensure that technical solutions and process changes being implemented meet the business requirement.
  • Support to the business in their testing of the project. Contribute to the UAT Strategy, test plans and scripts to ensure that customer requirements are implemented as expected.
  • Support change implementation activity and helping to establish and embed change. Supporting users on the change journey including writing procedures and training users in new business processes and their adoption.

  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of what service delivery excellence means in your role; ensuring you get the basics right every time. Evidenced through your day-to-day behaviours and performance measured against the SBG service charters.
  • Proven core analysis skills, including interviewing, root cause analysis, business process analysis, business research, data gathering, and data analysis.
  • Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form. Able to do this at all levels including Senior Management/Exec teams.
  • Able to organise and run requirement workshops with business wide user representatives and third-party solution providers.
  • Be able to demonstrate effective presentation skills.
  • Good MS Office skills, but in particular using Word, Excel and Visio to create clear documents that are relevant, accurate and complete.
  • A track record in providing detailed business specifications, along with analysis support on a range of business and Tech projects which have been successfully delivered.
  • Industry knowledge of Financial Services (in particular, the Wealth Management, Mortgage and Protection markets) and ideally knowledge of Independent Financial Advisor market.
  • The project lifecycle, and a good understanding of the key elements that make a project successful.
  • An understanding of technology infrastructures and environments, with willingness to work on a range of projects, including IT, business, regulatory and propositional change etc.
  • Knowledge of Sesame Bankhall Group business, its products and services.
  • Proven experience in successful implementation of change.
  • Experience of working with 3rd party solution providers.
  • Recognised qualification in Business Analysis or Financial Services qualifications would be desirable.
