We are adopting agile working to maximise the benefits for the SSSC to meet our business needs and to improve the service we provide to our customers.
Agile working presents many opportunities for you and for SSSC as an employer. Agile working gives you more choice over deciding how, when and where you work best in a way that balances your needs and those of our customers, our staff and ourselves. It’s about giving you more choice about how you do the right work, in the right place, at the right time. Agile working arrangements (also known as hybrid working, remote working, blended working or split-working arrangements or patterns) allow you to arrange your work time and work location in the most appropriate way for a given activity. This includes working in an office, at home or at another remote location. Where, when and how you choose to work may depend on the task you are doing and the kind of role you have. Please discuss this during an informal chat prior to interview or if you are shortlisted, at interview.
It is our intention to make agile working the default working practice wherever we can. However, we know that agile working is not for everyone and will provide office accommodation where required.
All applicants must live in Scotland and will be expected to attend the SSSC office from time to time as required.
Living in Dundee
Scotland’s sunniest city, Dundee is the UK’s first UNESCO City of Design and made Lonely Planet’s top 10 European hotspots in 2018 for its growing cultural scene and the transformation of the city’s historic waterfront. Dundee also made the National Geographic 2019 ‘must see cool list’.
Our offices are on the banks of the River Tay, right at the heart of the redesigned waterfront, close to the railway station and bus links and on the Green Circular cycle path, which goes right around the city.
We are next door to the new V&A Dundee and Captain Scott’s famous ship, RRS Discovery, built here in 1900. The city is a great shopping destination, surrounded by many eateries and bars. It is also rich in scenery with lovely beaches and parks.
We believe that the SSSC and Dundee offer a great place to begin or expand your career.
