The Team:

Our employees are one of our greatest assets and as our HR Assistant, during this 24-month fixed term programme you will be dealing with the human aspect of Mattel within an incredibly fast-paced and dynamic team. No day is the same in this department and in addition to gaining real-life experience in many areas of HR including Recruitment and Onboarding, you will also get to manage exciting, meaningful projects that you will have the opportunity to make your own.

Main Tasks:

  • Taking care of HR administrative tasks including:
  • Creating Contracts and Offer Letters including the new starter packs
  • Responding to office employee enquires
  • Manage tracking and analysis of sickness and holiday days
  • Confidential Employee Data management
  • Become a subject matter expert in Workday administration and compliance
  • Assisting the HR Team in planning and delivering office engagement and philanthropic events
  • Supporting interns throughout their placement year:
    • Be there for guidance and support when needed
  • Playing an active role in the Onboarding Program for New Employees:
    • Help organise the onboarding process throughout the year
    • Be one of the main points of contact for new employees
    • Help coordinate induction programmes for all new employees in the office
    • Be involved in setting up our buddy system
  • Aiding Recruitment for open positions
    • Assisting in creating and posting job descriptions and adverts
    • Organising the administration behind our recruitment process
    • Playing a big role in the Intern Recruitment, creating adverts and recruitment materials if needed
    • Organising and attending careers fairs, communicating with universities
    • Arranging interviews for hiring managers
  • Supporting the HR Team on any special projects during the year
    • E.g. projects related to employee wellbeing/engagement
  • Leading your own projects outside of HR that deliver value to the business
    • The opportunity to work with people outside of the HR Team


What We’re Looking For:

The successful candidate is an enthusiastic, proactive team player who is flexible and eager to learn new things. You must have excellent organisation and planning skills and be a good communicator both in writing and verbally. The ability to work in a confidential manner is essential.

For this programme, candidates will ideally hold a Human Resources or Business-related degree with a bias to HR modules or equivalent qualification or experience, with a keen interest in HR.

Candidates who have completed a HR internship/undergraduate placement are highly desirable.

They should also be computer literate and confident in spoken and written English.

  • Effective and efficient processing of responsibilities, project admin and office admin
  • General coordination and assistance
  • Preparing reports and correspondence in a timely manner
  • Ability to be flexible and well organised
