Role: - Business Analyst (Technology)
Job Purpose
Accountable for managing key business stakeholders to define requirements for change initiatives aimed at improving processes and systems ensuring alignment to business benefits and assuring quality delivery & testing of these requirements
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the facilitation of business workshops to elicit, challenge, develop and convert business, functional, and non-functional requirements into process/systems solutions considering IT and business drivers
- Ensure all documented requirements are delivered in a clear, concise, and timely fashion, suitable for handover to the Project delivery teams including Solution Architects and Test Leads
- Ensure that the requirements acceptance criteria, integrity, and traceability is maintained throughout the project lifecycle working alongside both internal and external suppliers
- Qualification and quantification of business benefits relating to requirements for change and improved business processes, including impact assessment of change requests to scope and requirements
- Ensure the quality & timeliness of the analysis, requirements, specifications & acceptance criteria produced, whilst supporting risk and issue management
- Bring flexibility and a positive attitude towards delivery of services in a fast-paced environment with inherent risks and several stakeholders with differing views of success.
- Maintain subject matter expert knowledge of at least one key Business area
- Constructively challenge stakeholders to maintain a balance between cost of delivery, time to delivery and quality of what is required to deliver optimum requirements
Key dimensions
- Able to work effectively with SA team and identify any gaps in the functional design
- Able to work on multiple project initiatives simultaneously
- Able to work in multiple functional domains and quickly develop an understanding of the system implications of business requirements in those domains
- Able to work with business stakeholders to identify AS-IS and TO-BE processes and conduct gap analysis
Key competencies
- Holds an appropriate qualification in Business Analysis or is prepared to study towards one
- Demonstrable experience of delivering Business Analysis within technology projects that successfully implemented change into multiple, complex integrated systems affecting multiple business stakeholders
- Strong facilitation skills with demonstrable experience in leading workshops and meetings with stakeholders of all levels
- High degree of competency in business analysis skills, including requirements gathering and engineering, process mapping and modelling, data analysis and modelling, benefits mapping and realization, root cause analysis, acceptance criteria definition and assuring test cases
- High degree of competency in using business analysis tools such as Azure Dev Ops, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Jira and any other industry standard tools
- Thorough understanding and experience working as a Business Analyst in both Agile and Waterfall project methodologies producing user stories, use cases or requirements matrices as appropriate
- Excellent verbal and written communication (including listening) skills and competent in the use of presentation methods with colleagues, suppliers, and customers
- Demonstrate resilience and drive to maintain progress and resolve issues
- Effective stakeholder and people management including strong negotiation skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Highly collaborative, solution and results focussed
- Good problem-solving skills aligned with innovative and creative thinking
- Customer centric focus to deliver effective solutions for real world problems to improve business value
- Functional domain knowledge and experience of Supply Chain Logistics is desirable
- Effective senior stakeholder management with internal and external stakeholder groups
