The role of the Resources Directorate which comprises Finance, HR and OD, Customer, Audit Fraud and Risk, Customer Delivery and Digital, Data and Technology is critical in addressing these key strategic priorities, as well as ensuring that the Council operates in the most effective manner and embraces innovation and new ways of working. The role will be part of a newly created team working for the Head of Strategy and Operations (Resources) which will provide high quality executive support to the Executive Director and Director of Finance and Director of Customer Delivery.
The Role:
As a Business Support Co-ordinator in the Resources Directorate, you will play an important part in supporting Executive Director and Directors with the following work:
- Provide high quality executive support including diary management, forward planning and trouble shooting
- Production of high quality reports for senior audiences, including Directors and Lead Members
- High quality briefings to Directors and Council Members
- Undertaking research and horizon scanning on government policy, legislation and best practice
- Supporting business planning and policy development activities across the Directorate
- Planning and delivery of communication and events across the Directorate
- Deputise for the Head of Strategy and Operations
Success in this role requires a high level of enthusiasm and initiative, the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, whilst working collaboratively in a small and high-impact team.

About You:
This is a role where you will be able to learn a great deal about local authority at a high level and develop your skills further in a fast-paced environment. Empathic, enthusiastic and flexible, you’ll be driven by a commitment to making a positive difference to residents’ lives. To succeed, you will need experience of working in a business support or executive assistant role at senior management level, as well as working within a team.
